Genesis / Rationale / Project objective

Situated in the canton of Vaud, in the district of Nyon (between Geneva and Lausanne), in one of the most beautiful and dynamic regions of French-speaking Switzerland in full expansion, on a strategic site combining ease of urban mobility and quality of life close to nature between mountains and lake, THE BOWLING HOTEL project could only have promising prospects given the attractiveness of the region as a place of residence (families) and a tourist and economic attraction (visitors and professionals).

THE IDEA
for this complex came from my professional travel and leisure experience. During my professional travels, I’ve often had to deal with the inconvenience of having to leave the hotel to find a moment of leisure and relaxation after a day’s work. So I thought it would be a good idea to bring everything together in one place and offer business customers the chance to work, eat, play and relax on a single site.

THE SYNERGIES
Another consideration was the aspect of creating synergy between the two activities: accommodation and leisure, i.e. that a hotel with an urban character is highly occupied during the week but little frequented at weekends, unlike leisure centers which are very busy at weekends, and rather quiet during the week.

THE ARCHITECTUREstrong
Numerous buildings housing leisure centers or hotels are often built with underground parking, service facilities detached from each other with little communication, and so on. We have tried to overcome this impractical configuration, for example by installing a parking lot on the ground floor, not for budgetary reasons, but for a specific strategic reason.

THE ENGINEERING
strong The separation of the accommodation structure from that of the leisure activity was a key factor in the project’s design, as it was necessary to compensate for the significant noise generated by the leisure activity and to ensure that customers were not penalized by this noise. We therefore drew up a specific engineering study and set up noise protection systems to ensure maximum noise blockage even when the center is at full capacity.

SELECTION OF THE SITE
A strategic choice ! We are located on the outskirts of the town of Nyon (halfway between Geneva and Lausanne), around 20 minutes from Geneva airport, just off the freeway, a major route covering the Côte region as far as Morges, meeting the needs of our accommodation customers.

THE CONCEPT
Unique in Switzerland! The combination of accommodation, leisure, catering and workspaces makes this facility unique in its range of activities, catering for both the needs of business customers and the entertainment needs of local families.

Notre établissement The Bowling Hôtel, composé d’un hôtel, d’un centre de conférences et d’un centre de loisirs, accueille principalement une clientèle d’affaires et touristique et offre des prestations de divertissement destinées aux familles, jeunes, adultes et seniors, ainsi qu’un nombre important d’entreprises. Il peut accueillir jusqu’à 500 personnes par jour, servies par du personnel représentant plus de 30 employés.

Après deux ans de travaux, il a ouvert officiellement le 1er mars 2019, c’est un projet d’envergure pour la région, offrant un concept unique en Suisse regroupant des activités diverses touchant tant au grand public qu’aux entreprises, ayant un impact sur l’économie locale et nationale.

Depuis son ouverture, l’établissement a prouvé en quelques mois sa valeur d’appréciation de la part de la population, témoignant d’un réel besoin d’offre de divertissement et de loisirs dans notre région.

En seulement 8 mois après son ouverture, la fréquentation du centre de loisirs et du restaurant ont atteint un niveau très satisfaisant à près de 90% de nos objectifs; l’hôtel quant à lui a atteint un taux d’occupation d’environ 55%, ce qui a permis à l’établissement à partir de novembre 2019, de rentrer dans les chiffres noirs.
